ABC Languages

Total Beginner Chinese/Mandarin

Basic conversation, reading, listening and writing skills will be taught including tones and the Romanized version of Chinese, pin-yin. In 8-12 weeks, students can expect to continue to build on their vocabulary, speaking and reading skills. Conversation topics include: introducing oneself, talking about food, family, telling time, daily activities, etc. Gradually, teachers will introduce some characters.

Total Beginner German

In 6-8 weeks, basic conversation, reading, listening and writing skills will be taught. Students learn the present tense of regular verbs and gain an introduction to German cases. In 8-12 weeks, students can expect to cover the some irregular verbs in the present tense, basic negations, questions, as well as deeper understanding and application of cases. Main conversation topics include: introducing oneself, talking about food, family, telling time, daily activities, etc.
